The old school house on Bere Island that now houses the Heritage Centre served the people back to the 1850s. It’s here that two of Bere Island’s native sons share memories and relay stories they heard as youngsters. As they discuss the real-life experiences of their ancestors at a time when British soldiers occupied the island, this video, Bere Island History, Part 1 (which implies there’s more to come), shows a slide show of  photographs from that time.
